The African American Calendar event took place at the School of Fine Arts on Tuesday, 11/10/15, at 6pm honoring twelve African Americans. Attending from our junior program at George Ward were Yasmin Fisher, Nigel Billings, Jamiya Ivory, Sapir Blain, Mrs. Perkins, Abeni Perkins, Jahnah Blain, Gerald Craig, Taylor Craig and Mrs. Blain. The following people were honored at this event: Dr. Sonnie Hereford III, Dr. Frank Adams Sr., Birmingham Black Barons, Martha Reeves, Dr. Lucius Pitts Sr., Bryan Stevenson, Surpora Sparks-Thomas, Joanne Bland, Horace King, Dora Finley, Alice Coachmen and Jimmie Lee Jackson.
