The George Ward Lady Warriors were finalists in the United States Tennis Association sectional ladies combo 5.0 event that took place in Mobile, Alabama from 3/2/12 through 3/4/12. They won their division by beating Arkansas, Georgia and Tennessee. They then played Louisiana in the sectional championship and lost in a third set tie-breaker 12-10. Our Lady Warriors were second in the nine state Southern Section. The ladies pictured below from left to right are Candace Jones, Tanya Webb, Darlene Stanford, Yvette Abadie, Angela Kemp, Julie Curry, Angela Rembert, Renita Harrigan and LaTonya Roy. Missing from the picture are Cristal Franklin, Nazaren Hartman and Angela Martin. Coaches Ken Robinson (head coach), Vila Fisher (assistant coach) and Lee Montgomery (assistant coach) are all the coaches that helped these ladies improve their tennis skills.
