On Sunday, 1/20/08, the United States Tennis Association Southern Section (9 State area) awarded the James Lewis Tennis Scholarship Foundation Incorporated the 2009 and 2010 Southern Sectional Championship Tournament. This means that the World's Largest Tennis Tournament is coming to Birmingham from 7/25/09 through 8/2/09 and from 7/24/10 through 8/1/10. There will be at least 2,000 tennis players coming to Birmingham each year and the revenue impact will be over 6 million dollars per year. We also anticipate over $500,000 of tennis center improvements being done.
